In celebration of a hugely sucessful twenty years in the travel industry, tonight The Global Travel Group are thrilled to welcome our valued members and trade partners to our birthday bash.
The last two decades have witnessed The Group grow from strength to strength, welcoming new members to start-up and develop their sucessful travel agencies with our support. But tonight we take an evening off, to say thanks (Or cheers! When in Rome and all..) to all those who have supported us in return, and toast to a prosperous future within our industry.

So how many cups of tea have been drank, cakes eaten, and dreams of exotic cruises cast? Well, if our Global Members are anything to go by; hundreds!
National Cruise Week is well under way, and really making a splash. Our agents have the relationship with some of the largest, most elite cruise liners on the horizon, aswell as the smaller more specialist suppliers, meaning they can offer their client the world on water.

After recent news that the global giant has lost out on a contract to run the Western Rail Service - it's teriffic news that Virgin have announced their air division is continuing to grow.
From March 2013, Virgin Atlantic will be running new routes from London to Manchester, and shifting existing services to make the return leg.
The Airline has assured the industry and their customers that this is the first step into a national flight network, allowing regional feed to and from London where passengers journey to and from long-haul destinations.

In a continued streak of success, The Global Travel Group has welcomed four new Members over the last few weeks.
Amongst our network of agencies are Inari Travel, Xindy Travel, Devoted to Travel and Purple Star Travel.
Each new agency will trade under The Global Travel Groups' Atol licence, and benefit from the wide spanning relationships that TGTG have created with suppliers to the industry.
We wish them great success in their business, and offer them support through all stages of trade.

Visit Florida has recently joined forces with advertising company, armed with a huge £2m to allocate on marketing the US across UK and Europe.
It is reported that travel form the UK to Florida was curbed in 2008 with airlines pulling flights; this is thought to have now improved with the likes of British Airways and Virgin Atlantic adding more departures for 2012 and ahead. Whilst this is progress, the departures are focussed on London departures; which many travellers and travel agents will agree can be restrictive. Visit Florida have however expressed their desire to brnach out to regional airports.
The Tourist Board are putting a lot of their budget and efforts into targetting the young market, and utilising social media to do so. Want to jump on board? Get promoting Florida now for 2013 and 2014 departures... it's never been a cooler place to visit!

Heathrow anticipates record numbers of passenger traffic today, in the run up to the Olympics.
In a release from Heathrow Airport Media Center today, the record details unravel:'236,955 passengers are expected to travel through the airport on Monday, breaking the previous record of 233,562 set on 31 July 2011'
And it's not ofcourse just spectators - let's not forget the vast numbers of volunteers, translators, families of competitors, trainers and not to mention the athletes themselves that arrive in anticipation of The Games.
When passengers increase, behind the scenes must follow suit. Heathrow has brought in the masses including staff and volunteers for baggage handling, immigration control, Olympic creditation desks, and a huge surge in ongoing travel.
